NOTE: this is not a ready made toy, this is a digital crochet tutorial of how to create such toy.
This pattern contains one PDF file with easy-to-follow written description of all the details and assembly, and video tutorials. It’s a simple pattern, there are no photos of the crocheting process, only photos of how the finished toy looks like.
Video tutorials included:
- Starting an oval part.
- Sewing the eye patch.
- Attaching legs to make them movable.
- Making sloth’s hair.
Materials needed:
Yarn: Drops Nord (45% alpaca, 30% polyamide, 25% wool, 170 m/50 g, 4 ply / fingering weight) in brown, beige and dark brown (or you can use a dark brown piece of felt for the eyes parts).
Hook size: 1.5 mm.
Eyes size 3 mm, glue.
Sewing needle, scissors, pins, thin black thread for embroidery.
Polyester fiberfill.
* For the bigger sloth, I used Alize Cotton Gold yarn and a hook size 2 mm.
You may use any other type of yarn, just remember to use a crochet hook suitable for your yarn weight.
Size of the small sloth is about 8 cm (2.95”). The bigger sloth is about 9.5 cm (3.74”).
Basic crocheting skills needed:
- Chain.
- Single crochet.
- Slip stitch.
- Half double crochet.
- Increasing and decreasing.
